Where to fish for trout in the Carpathians

Voevodyno is always ready to offer you a memorable vacation and thrilling fishing experiences. With fresh, clean air, the majestic beauty of the Carpathian mountains, and invigorating mountain rivers, it’s a perfect destination for anglers. Our pride is our own trout farm, where we grow ecologically clean, genuine river trout.

Here’s what we offer:

3 ponds for fry;
3 ponds for breeding stock;
2 reservoirs for carp fishing;
4 reservoirs for trout fishing in Transcarpathia;
1 pond for sterlet.

At our trout farm, we manage a full cycle of fish cultivation. We incubate eggs and grow fry of various trout species, including:

brook trout;
rainbow;
golden Adler trout.

We also cultivate:

sterlet (starlet);
char (Palia Arctic);
Danube salmon;
carp.

Trout fishing in Transcarpathia

Every year, our farm produces over 15 tons of fish and harvests 1 ton of caviar. We raise trout exclusively on ecologically clean feed. It takes about 2.5 to 3 years for the trout to reach a marketable size of 250-350 grams.

Trout is considered one of the most refined types of fish, renowned for its excellent taste and beneficial properties. It is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, trace elements, phosphorus, and amino acids, all of which contribute to its exquisite flavor. The scales are large and easy to remove, and Transcarpathian trout has a pleasant pink color with a delicate peach hue. It contains few bones, which are easy to remove.

After fishing, you can prepare the trout yourself, which is a simple task and adds a special flavor to the experience. The cottages are equipped with everything you need for cooking.

If you don't feel like cooking yourself, you can give the fish you caught to our chefs at your favorite restaurant and order it to be prepared for you for lunch or dinner. Our talented chefs will fulfill your wishes at the highest level, and you can enjoy exquisite dishes.

Cooking trout in a restaurant

After fishing in the Carpathians, you can enjoy your freshly caught trout prepared in two delicious ways:

Grilled over an open fire with fragrant Carpathian herbs, onions, and carrots
Pan-fried to perfection

In our restaurants , we don’t just bake and fry trout; we also prepare it in hearty fish soups and fresh salads. And here’s something special — if you haven’t tried smoked trout, you’re in for a treat. We smoke our trout in-house, turning it into a culinary delicacy with a rich taste and aroma.

Hot smoking is done at a temperature of around 80°C, resulting in a very valuable and nutritious product. This process helps retain most of the fish’s beneficial properties, making it not only delicious but also good for your health. Eating trout will boost your energy and sharpen your mind, while fishing in the Carpathians will leave you with lasting memories.
