Weather signs in Transcarpathia: how to read the signs of the mountains
Did you know that Transcarpathian weather signs work more accurately than any smartphone apps? In the city, our relationship with nature is limited to the screen of a gadget or the weather forecast on TV, but in the mountains everything is different. The Carpathians speak to us in the language of the wind, the rustle of leaves and the behavior of animals. For centuries, Transcarpathian highlanders have lived in absolute harmony with nature, noticing the slightest changes in its mood.
When you chose a resort vacation Voevodyno, your phone can be safely hidden in a safe. Today we will teach you to read the signs of nature and predict the weather the way the indigenous people of Transcarpathia do.
When the mountains close in: the language of clouds and fog
Mountains are the very first weather forecasters. All you have to do is look out your window in the morning. cottageto understand nature's plans for the day.
- the mountain has closed – if the peaks of the Carpathians suddenly and tightly hide behind thick clouds, the mountaineers say that the mountain has “closed.” This is a one hundred percent sign that a downpour will soon begin;
- Where the fog goes – the morning fog in Vojvodina is a magical sight in itself. But look closely at its movement. If it spreads heavily down the grass near the lake – the day will be sunny and hot. If the fog rises rapidly upwards, clinging to the crowns of the beech forest, it’s time to get out your raincoats and umbrellas.
Live weather forecasts for our ranch and forest
Animals sense changes in atmospheric pressure much more accurately than the most modern devices. Since nature in Voevodyno is right at your doorstep numbers, watching these signs is a pure pleasure:
- dancing and noise on Ranch – our goats and sheep are usually very calm. But if they start bleating too loudly, stamping their hooves, and huddle together, looking for shelter – bad weather is approaching;
- The aviary warns – if ducks and geese on the pond suddenly start screaming loudly, beating their wings on the water or hiding their heads under their wings – wait for a cold snap;
- Before the rain, our beech forest starts to smell much stronger than usual. The trees release more essential oils and phytoncides, the air becomes sweet, thick, and as if electrified.
Here are a few more proven features of our resort:
- are you preparing bograch in the Wilhov Grove and suddenly noticed that the smoke from the fire does not rise upwards, but spreads heavily downwards along the ground - hurry to the room for an umbrella, because smoke downwards means bad weather is coming soon;
- if on a walk Schönborn Park on a quiet sunny day you notice that all the dandelions in the meadow have suddenly closed their buds tightly, know that the flowers are hiding their pollen from moisture, because it will soon start to rain;
- In the evening, by the fire, you noticed that the firewood was burning extremely quickly, and the coals were burning with a bright, almost white flame. This means that the atmospheric pressure was dropping and a strong Carpathian wind would rise tomorrow.
Philosophy of Carpathian comfort
But the most important Transcarpathian sign is this – there is no such thing as bad weather. Nature simply changes its scenery, offering you different vacation scenarios.
If the mountains predict sun, it's the perfect time for active walks in Schönborn Park, trout fishing, horseback riding on our ranch, the opportunity to tickle your nerves on Zip line trails or on the tracks park.
If the sky is covered with clouds and promises rain, it is a sign from the Carpathians themselves that it is time to slow down. This is the best reason to order hot tub with herbs, go for a relaxing massage to the SPA center or spend a cozy evening in restaurants with a glass of Transcarpathian wine.
Come to Vojvodina in any weather. We know how to make your vacation unforgettable every day of the year!
