Mulled wine and grog are hot alcoholic drinks without which it is difficult to imagine a snowy winter and New Year's holidays. Now there are many different variations of these drinks. Classic mulled wine

Ingredients:

  • 1 orange;
  • 1 lime;
  • 1 lemon;
  • 100 g of powdered sugar;
  • 3 clove stars;
  • 1 cinnamon stick;
  • 1 bay leaf;
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg;
  • 1 vanilla pod;
  • 1 star anise;
  • 100 ml of water;
  • 1 liter of dry red wine.

Preparation

  1. Remove the zest from citrus fruits.
  2. Pour powdered sugar into a large saucepan, add zest, pour water, mix. Put the pan on medium heat.
  3. Add cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla to the pan.
  4. Pour the wine into the pan and boil the resulting mixture on fire until the powdered sugar dissolves.
  5. Bring the drink to a boil, while stirring it a little.
  6. Turn off the heat and add aniseed to the pot.
  7. Close the pot with a lid and let the drink infuse for 40-50 minutes.

Classic grog

Ingredients:

  • 400 ml of water;
  • 200 ml of dark rum;
  • 2 lemons;
  • 2-4 teaspoons of sugar.

Preparation

  1. Pour water into the pan and bring it to a boil, then turn off the heat.
  2. Squeeze juice from lemons.
  3. Carefully pour rum into a saucepan with water, add lemon juice and sugar, mix everything.
  4. Turn on a small fire and cook the drink for 2-3 minutes until the sugar dissolves.

Non-alcoholic mulled wine

Ingredients:

  • 3 glasses of grape juice;
  • 100 ml of water;
  • 2 tablespoons of orange peel;
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon peel;
  • half an apple;
  • 2 tablespoons of raisins;
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon;
  • ½ teaspoon of cloves;
  • 1 pinch of cardamom;
  • 1 g of ginger.

Preparation

  1. Pour grape juice into a pan.
  2. Pour water and all other ingredients into the pan, mix.
  3. Cook the drink over low heat until it boils.
  4. Turn off the heat and let the drink infuse for 5-10 minutes.

Honey grog with cinnamon

Ingredients:

  • 200 ml of dark rum;
  • 1 star anise;
  • 1 lemon;
  • 40 g of honey;
  • 1 cinnamon stick;
  • 2 clove stars;
  • 5 g of black tea.

Preparation

  1. Brew strong tea in a teapot.
  2. Add anise, cinnamon and cloves to the tea. Leave to infuse for 10 minutes.
  3. Squeeze lemon juice into tea with spices.
  4. Pour rum into glasses and add tea to them.
  5. Add honey to the finished drink.
