Why do we want to come back here again so quickly after a vacation in the Carpathians? Of course, we remember the mountains, walks in the forest, cozy evenings, and picturesque landscapes. But there is another detail that is difficult to convey in photographs. These are smells.
They are what stay in our memory for so long. Scientists explain it simply – the sense of smell is closely connected to the parts of the brain responsible for emotions and memories. Therefore, one familiar aroma can instantly take us back to where it was really good.
The smell of the forest that is impossible to forget
The beech forest has its own special aroma. In the morning it smells of coolness, white fog, silvery dew. After the rain - of wet grass, moss and drops on the leaves. On a hot day, a light aroma of herbs and sun-warmed bark is added to them.
