The only pedestrian crossing for hedgehogs in Ukraine now has its own "ambassadors"

Voyevodyno became the first resort in Ukraine to establish an official crossing for wild hedgehogs. And now this unique eco-project has received an unexpected continuation.

The story of this unusual "zebra" began in 2021, when the management of the Voyevodyno resort noticed that there were so many hedgehogs on the central alley of the Schönborn Park that they began to obstruct traffic. Instead of banning bicycles, they found a creative solution here - they created the first infrastructure for wild animals in Ukraine.

Now the project has received a symbolic embodiment — three author's sculptures, each of which has its own symbolism:

🦔 A hedgehog meditating in a Zen pose amidst greenery — hinting at the peace and harmony that can be found here

The Vojvodina experiment can be called a breakthrough in ecotourism, because hedgehogs are indicators of ecological purity. The fact that their population has grown here speaks of the uniqueness of the local ecosystem. In addition, hedgehogs control the population of pests and even hunt poisonous snakes - they have a natural immunity to snake venom.

Resort guests take special pleasure in taking photos near the new sculptures and patiently wait to meet real hedgehogs during morning and evening walks in the park. And this is not just a photo for Instagram - it is a symbol of how a person can live in harmony with nature.
