Light of Traditions: winter in Vojvodina

In the very heart of the Carpathians, winter has its own character - not loud and not ostentatious, but deep, warm, with a quiet glow of ancient customs. Vojvodina comes alive in winter not with bright decorations, but with the light of traditions, with that special inner heat that is born from carols, from ritual dishes, from children's letters to Nicholas and evenings by the fire.

Here, winter returns to us what is easy to lose in everyday life: slowness, closeness, togetherness.

Where does the Vojvodino winter trail lead?

From the first days of December, the resort is immersed in its special atmosphere. Children write letters to Saint Nicholas and send them by magic mail, listen to evening fairy tales with hot cocoa, and the air is filled with the faint smell of honey gingerbread.

Next — we open our advent calendar of winter events! Warm moods reign here: cozy movie nights, fun games, fortune telling, nativity scenes, a fair, Carpathian music and walks among the illuminations. Here is dinner with grandfathers and 12 Lenten dishes, and Christmas with a choir and the Star of Bethlehem sounds the way a real carol should sound — ringing, sincere, for everyone. And, of course, Malanka with jokes and music, which welcomes the New Year the way it has always been done in the Carpathians — loudly and sincerely.

But between the big holidays, life in Vojvodina does not stop. Between the gifts and the evening lights, we taste fragrant mulled wine, make dumplings, do morning yoga and walk along the snow-covered paths of Schönborn Park. In January, we continue to celebrate: fairy-tale days for children, evenings with legends and bonfires, generosity, Epiphany with an ice font, star competitions and quiet walks.

Where the darkness becomes brighter

In Vojvodina, winter is not about the cold. It is about the light that people bring to each other. About evenings by the fire, about legends passed down from elders to younger ones, about the feeling of home that can be found even when you come here for the first time.
