The new star of the Voyevodyno ranch is the filly Liza
Breed history
The Hutsul horse is an aboriginal breed that was formed in the Carpathians. The first written mention dates back to 1603, where the Hutsul horse is described as "calm, but it beats painfully."
It is believed that the breed is a direct descendant of the tarpan - a wild steppe and forest horse of a mouse-colored color. In the harsh conditions of the Bukovina Carpathians, Hutsul horses were formed in isolation, which gave them resilience, strength and unpretentiousness. And the influence of Arab horses during the Turkish wars added nobility, dryness of the structure and high tail setting.
Today, Hutsul horses are recognized as one of the most valuable relict breeds in Europe, listed in the catalog of rare breeds and protected as part of the cultural heritage of the Carpathians.

Breed standard
Hutsul horses are compact, but very strong and harmonious. Their bodies are rounded and strong, and their proportions create a sense of stability and balance.
The head is medium-sized, broad and noble, the profile is straight or slightly arched. The neck is short, strong, the withers are long and low, the shoulder blades are steep, and the limbs are short and securely set - all this makes the Hutsulyk hardy and extremely suitable for mountain trails and horseback riding.
The color is most often sable, bay or black; bay is rare. Horses of this breed quickly regain their fatness, are distinguished by their fertility and longevity. They are ideally suited to work in the mountains and can travel up to 100 km per day on trails with a load of over 100 kg.
