Lakes, waterfalls, mountains and reservoirs of Transcarpathia

• Lake Synevyr – the pearl of the Carpathians, considered the most picturesque lake in Ukraine. Incomparable landscapes, clear water, crystal clear air, spruce forests, many local legends - all this awaits you on a trip to the legendary lake. The maximum depth, depending on the season, is from 19 to 23 meters. Even on the hottest day, the water in the lake warms up by only 1-2 meters, then becomes icy cold. Therefore, it is forbidden to swim here;
• Shipit waterfall – at the foot of Mount Hymba and originates from the Pylypets River. It is considered the highest and most full-water waterfall in Transcarpathia. The height of the waterfall reaches 14 m. To see the greatness of the mountain waterfall, hundreds of thousands of tourists come here every year;
• valley of daffodils is a unique biosphere reserve where wild mountain daffodils grow. It is better to come here at the end of April and at the beginning of May, when fragile flowers bloom on the territory of 250 hectares;
• Hoverla - the highest mountain of Ukraine, its height is 2,061 m above sea level. It is simply impossible to visit the Carpathians and not conquer the highest mountain. But it is advisable to go to the mountains accompanied by experienced guides;
• Berehovo thermal springs – the thermal springs are removed to special pools, the temperature of which does not drop below 30 degrees even in winter. Sodium chloride mineral water is suitable for the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular and nervous systems, skin and joint diseases;
• mineral waters - we can talk endlessly about the healing waters of Transcarpathia, health resorts and health recreation. "Naftusya", "Morshinska", "Polyana Kvasova", "Polyana Kupel", "Luzhanska", "Shayanska" are the most popular mineral springs, which in their composition and properties are not inferior to such famous waters as "Borjomi" and "Yesentuki". Thousands of tourists come to the sanatoriums of Transcarpathia to drink water and get better.

Castles, palaces, temples of Transcarpathia

• Palanok Castle, Mukachevo - one of the oldest fortresses not only in Transcarpathia, but also in Ukraine. The territory of the castle occupies almost 14 thousand square meters. m. Its medieval walls keep many secrets and legends to this day. The castle has many secret passages and cellars, where peasants used to hide during the years of siege. It is located on a mountain of volcanic origin and seems to rise above the city. The name of the fortress comes from the fence made of large logs - palanquins, which framed it around the perimeter in ancient times and protected it from uninvited guests and enemies;
• Uzhgorod castle-fortress - located in the historical center of Uzhhorod is the personification of reliability, strength and inviolability. It was once the residence of the Old Russian Prince Lyuborts. Now there is a museum of local history with a collection of more than 100,000 exhibits;
• Saint Miklos Castle - located 12 km from Mukachevo in the town of Chinadievo. It was built in the 15th century by the magnate of Perenia. The castle of St. Miklos constantly changed owners, including the Schönborn family. Whoever conquered the land became the owner of the fortress. In addition to an interesting excursion, here you can celebrate an unforgettable wedding according to ancient traditions, sit on a real throne of princes, walk through secret passages;
• Srednyany castle - in the village of Seredne, near Uzhgorod, there is another castle - Serednyansky, or of the Order of the Templars. More precisely, these are the ruins of an ancient castle built by the Templars along the "salt road" that connected Europe and the Carpathians in the XI-XII centuries. Although the castle is now almost ruined, it used to have an observation area, moats and defense posts and was completely habitable;
• Schönborn castle - this fabulous castle is located in the small village of Karpaty. He seems to have stepped out of the pages of chivalric novels. That era gravitated towards astronomical sciences and the structure of the castle corresponds to this principle. The number of windows corresponds to the number of days in a year, the number of rooms is equal to the number of weeks, and the twelve entrances to the castle symbolize 12 months. The castle is considered an ideal place for young couples to visit. The spirit of romance seems to be in the air here. Currently, the Karpaty sanatorium is located here.

Iconic places of Transcarpathia

• Schönborn Park in Voivodeship - located on the territory of the Vojvodina resort on the outskirts of the village of Turja Pasika, designed in the style of the end of the 19th century, the historical classics of Austria-Hungary and the aesthetics of European park art. Today's park is an exact copy of Count Schönborn's park, which was laid out in 1890-1895. Currently, the area of the park is 12 hectares. Forest, lawns, exotic trees and a large natural lake make Schönborn Park a real highlight of Transcarpathia. You can relax and enjoy the surrounding beauty in the park for hours;
• Wine cellars in the village of Sredne – is an architectural monument of the 16th century and listed by UNESCO among the ten best wine cellars in Europe;
• Bunker of the Arpada Line in the village of Hrabivnytsia - one of the best-preserved monuments of the Second World War on the so-called "Arpad Line". Excavated at a depth of almost 100 m, it has three floors and stretches for 1,500 meters. Currently, there is a museum exposition, tours and tastings of Transcarpathian wines are held here;
• Mukachevo Town Hall – one of the TOP attractions of the city and the most beautiful town hall of the Transcarpathian region. It combines neo-Gothic features with the context of modernized Hungarian retrospectivism and creates an impression of solemnity, solidity, and in composition with Gothic features, the building seems romantic and fairy-tale.
