Everyone falls, even the pros. Falling is part of learning. The snow is soft, the equipment is protective, the instructors are there. No one laughs at beginners \u2013 everyone has been there once.<\/p>\n<p>We at Vojvodina understand this. Our resort has created an atmosphere where you can learn to ski confidently without shame or fear, and enjoy every little bit of progress.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, you can learn to ski on your own. But in practice it takes longer, is more difficult and there is a risk of injury. We suggest you use the services of our ski school, where experienced instructors will teach you to stand confidently on skis. Namely:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">for children \u2013 game techniques to make learning interesting and fun;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">for adults \u2013 clear explanations and training in technique;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">There can be individual lessons or group lessons (group lessons are cheaper and more fun).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What the instructor gives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">correct technique from the very beginning \u2013 you won&#039;t have to relearn;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">confidence \u2013 there is a professional nearby who will catch you if you fall;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">rapid progress \u2013 one lesson with an instructor is equal to a week of independent attempts;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">safety \u2013 you will learn how to fall correctly, brake, and avoid collisions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Equipment and gear: what you need to know<\/h2>\n<p>Don&#039;t buy everything at once! This is the first and most important tip. Until you are sure that the skis are yours, there is no point in spending thousands on equipment.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of your skiing career, it would be advisable to use equipment rental in Vojvodino. Here you can rent skis, boots, poles, helmets - everything is selected for your height, weight, level. All our equipment is in good condition and safe, if something does not fit - you can always exchange it. Moreover, the rental price is much lower than buying it.<\/p>\n<p>When going to the Carpathians to a ski resort, we recommend taking with you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">warm clothes \u2013 thermal underwear, fleece jacket, ski jacket and pants (preferably waterproof);<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">socks \u2013 high and thick and in no case cotton;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">warm waterproof gloves;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">a hat \u2013 to cover your ears;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">glasses or a mask - to protect your eyes from bright sun and snow;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Face cream \u2013 so that frost and wind do not dry out the skin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For children, you need the same things, plus a helmet. We also rent children&#039;s equipment.<\/p>\n<h2>Learning: first steps<\/h2>\n<p>In this sport, skiing technique is important, which you will master during training. The instructor will teach you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">stand and walk \u2013 simply stand on your skis and take steps. The correct stance allows you to evenly distribute the load, maintain balance, and control the movement;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">go straight \u2013 on easy slopes, the instructor holds you, and you just go straight. The first slide is an unbeatable feeling;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">The rules of safe falling are also one of the main skills in skiing. You need to fall sideways, facing the slope, lying on the snow as if you want to sit down. This technique of falling allows you to prevent possible injuries;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">brake \u2013 during descents, it does not allow the skis to accelerate and helps control the speed. There are several techniques. Plow \u2013 when the toes of the skis are together, the heels apart. This is basic braking for beginners. And herringbone \u2013 when the skis are smoothly directed from side to side. You need to be careful and adhere to a certain trajectory of skiing;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">safe turns \u2013 once you have learned to brake, you can learn to turn. Body weight is transferred from ski to ski. This is real skiing;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Using a towbar lift is scary at first, but the instructor will show you how to get on and off properly. After a few times, it becomes a habit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For children, all these lessons are presented as a game. Voyevodyno instructors know how to make learning interesting. Ambition is good, but safety is more important.<\/p>\n<h2>Common beginner mistakes and safety rules<\/h2>\n<p>The main mistakes beginners make are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">the gaze is directed at the feet - you need to look ahead, where you are going. The body follows the gaze;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">tense muscles - you need to relax so as not to lose balance. Knees are slightly bent, hands are free;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">high speed \u2013 control and technique first, and speed later;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">they are silent about help \u2013 if you don\u2019t understand something or are afraid of something, ask the instructor and the professionals will help;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Forget about rest \u2013 skiing is a physically demanding activity. Take breaks, drink water, don&#039;t overexert yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our ski resort Vojvodino closely monitors the safety of skiing. Our slopes are well-groomed, there is a first aid station.
